[1] Prepoo & Lime- I prepooed with Tresemme Remoisture Conditioner, apple cider vinegar, my oil mix (it has in African Pride Growth Oil and Tropic Isle Red Pimento Oil) and I applied it on my scalp. I also poured some of the African Pride Oil down
the length of my hair. I was looking for a plastic cup to mix the lime and oil in, but they were finished, so I just poured the lime juice on my coated hair. I used two limes this time, because they were really small. After I placed the lime juice in my hair, it sorta got dry so I quickly grabbed my Vo5 Moisture Milks Strawberry and Cream and applied it to my hair. My hair instantly felt better, so after I went under the dryer for 20 mins.
[2] Cleanse- I shampooed with the Mane n Tail Original Shampoo, and omgg I just love this. I mean my hair just felt so soft and nice, without the stripped feeling. Probably I should've bought the 16oz hmmm.
[3] Reconstruct- I reconstructed with the Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstructer. This is another one of my favs, cause I get my protein and soft hair.....and who doesn't like that? lol. I applied it in parts and finger detangle each sections
[4] Deep Condition- I had a hard time deciding which conditioner I wanted to use, not because I have alot lol, but I just wanted the right balance. So I chose my ORS Replenishing Conditioner and my Mane n Tail Original Conditioner, and I deep conditioned with heat for 20 mins. And it left my hair so soft and smooth :) So after I detangled my hair with my wide tooth comb, and I pinned it up and tried to complete some of my chores.
[5] Leave- Ins- I used my Aphogee Keratin and Green Tea Reconstructurizer for added strength.
[6] Style- After I sprayed in my leave in, I detangled and left my hair to air dry. When it was about 80% dry, I parted my hair in 4 parts, and braided each section. When I was finished I sprayed my very very diluted setting lotion (honestly mostly water lol) in my hair, then went under the dryer for ten minutes. I would have stayed longer, but the VMA's were starting lol. I'm not really a huge fan of it, but I watched it mostly for B's oh so mind blowing performance, which was honestly just okay to me...but I did loved when her hubby and Blue came out, that was really sweet. I was sorry though that Sam Smith didn't win any awards, but I really loved listening to his voice when he was performing. Anyways lol.....
Results- Wash day was pretty good, although I was scared as heck when my hair started to get dry when I put in the lime juice. But after I applied my Vo5 and went under the dryer, my hair came back to normal, and wasn't so dry and stiff. The lime only stayed in my hair for 20 mins, so I don't know how well it lightened my hair and the sun couldn't help me with the process because the rain was falling.
The braid out itself, I can't really say because I haven't pulled them out as yet for the full style. But I did unpull the first two, and it looked okay. I haven't done a full braid out in a longgg while, and its the first time I'm using this method as well. I have a few pictures of the two braids I pulled out...the only reson I un-did them was to do it start it farther up, near my scalp. But my braiding skills suck lol, so I just got it up a lil more. I also added a roller for each section a braided, so the ends didn't come out weird and messy.
Overall, it was a good wash and a nice lil break from roller setting. I don't if I'll do a braid out again next week, but hopefully it will be a good wash with no tangles from my new growth *fingers crossed*. In regards to the lime juice, I don't know if I'll do one again next week, or wait till the other week. But I think as long as I deep condition to add back the moisture to my hair, it will be fine. Ho was your wash day this week ladies?
I've never used lemon juice to lighten my hair---but I have heard that it's great at preventing frizz and making your hair really shiny.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your #washdayexperience chica!

Yeaa I also read that too, but I avent experienced any of that with the lime juice so far. Only change I've seen is the lightening of my hair. But I've only used it two times, so maybe its too early to say :) and its my pleasure gurllllll :D
