Senegalese Twist: The takedown

Hey girls, I decided to take down my twists. I had them in for about 5 weeks now. It took about 2 days to take down because I was lazy and took a lot of breaks. I was ultra gentle while doing this because my hair was in a fragile state and needed some lovin' lol. It felt dry but stretchy and over moisturized at the same time but anyways here's how I took care of my hair after.

[1] DETANGLE !!! girllllll I can not stress this enough, before even thinking about washing, detangle and
release all that shed hair or you may end up cutting all your hair off because your hair became too matted and I finger detangled then added some carrot oil  and used a wide tooth comb.

[2] Prepoo: using a mixture of coconut oil my fave, lil castor oil and few drops of eucalyptus oil I coated my hair and scalp. Then gave myself a scalp massage and did the oil treatment for about an hour.

[3] Shampoo: using creme of nature detangling and conditoning shampoo I shampooed 3x. While rinsing the shampoo out, I finger detangled under the running water. This is my all time fave shampoo it detangles like a dream. I then t-shirt dried my hair for about 15 mins

[4] Deep condition: using the ORS hair mayonnaise as a medium protein treatment with a mixture of coconut oil and eucalyptus oil and let that sit for about 45 mins.

[5 ] I t-shirt dried my hair for about 10 mins then applied my leave in and heat protectant and began to blow dry on warm air without the comb attachment. Reason being is that my hair was still wet and wet hair is at its weakest state so even trying to detangle soaking wet is a no no.

[ 6] I detangled again one last time and while doing that I lost very few strands even thought I'm almost 20 weeks post relaxer.

[7] Then moisturized and seal with organics carrot oil and coconut oil. Using only 7 flexi rods I rolled my hair.

This was a good wash day my hair was left shiny moisturized and soft and my new growth was feeling happy lol. I didn't bother to separate the curls just cause I didn't want to ;)

  3. I always use a bit of oil and braid spray on the roots as i take down braids and detangle each single braid as I go along it makes it so much easier to detangle the entire head when I am done. Great post and now I think this is a sign that I should get some flexi rods almost every other wash day post I read in the last week involved flexi rods lol!

    1. Wow that's a really good tip with the oil and braid spray :-) and I also detangled each braid it made detangling my hair a whole lot easier. You should definitely get the flexi rods too or you missing out lol. They always give gorgeous curls but the only dislike I have if I don't smooth my ends on it properly the end of the curls come out frizzy
